Far Far Away Laah!

"Around the world in 80 days."

... Nah , not my story.

Neither did i go around the world , nor did i spend 80 days traveling.

A short trip to our "across the sea neighbours" - Malaysia and Singapore turned out to much more fascinating and awesome than what i had expected.

Well, I'm not here talking about the must see places or any tourist information as u can easily find better people to tell u about that. Just google.

Lets go Malaysia first.

First thing one is likely to notice in this nation is the LARGE airport - it has a rail system inside its building!

Nice huh?

On the flight , we were offered lots of cool drinks and little food. I wondered why.

In the airport , EUREKA! , i found myself the answer!

Superb toilets and breath-taking wash rooms!

And who can resist showing off their investments??!! Hence the cool drinks onboard!

Fresh strawberries, Dark chocolates and things i could not recognize made a walk in the airport rather a pleasure.

overall 9.99 out of 10. (9.99 because i did not like their strategy of drinks :p, every thing else was real good!)

It's a 75 km drive from the air port to the city. On the way we pass by unpopular buildings like the incometax department and toll booths. And soon the landscape changes from pure green trees to shiny blue sky scrapers. Putrajaya - they call it. the city which they claim will take the architectural world by storm! seemingly so.

But like most other beautiful things, a visit to Putrajaya is expensive! ...We let it alone.

We steadily moved into the country's capital - Kuala Lumpur.

I was Stunned. The towering sky rises and marvelous architecture apart, the first thing Indians are likely to notice in the city is it's incredible cleanliness!

The 75 km drive was having it's toll on me already. It got sickening and monotonous ... u know... i'm not used to perfectly smooth roads without pot holes!

Finally we arrived at our hotel ... nice and cozy. I was already liking malaysia!

We spent the next few days looking around a few buildings and nodding to every thing our guide told us...

not much sight seeing to see in this city :-( . however , the city was of a different type... so just liked looking around.

The place that caught my interest was a street called " Little India". It really was very 'Indian' and i felt as if i was home. One can find anything he/she finds in India - Samosas , vegetables, pirated CDs n fake Nike/Adidas shirts :p and ofcourse many INDIANs.

It didn't take me long to discover malaysians' favorite word : "Laah".

It goes like this :

How are u Laah?

I am fine Laah!

U like KL laah? (KL = Kuala Lumpur)

uff!

The last day at KL turned out to be a lil boring.

i dont know why... perhaps it was getting monotonous or maybe i was excited on going to our next destination - Singapore.

Oh! btw... we visited a place called Melaka sometime during the stay at KL. Decent historical place.

But what was more interesting was it's name - u swap the 'l' and the 'k' and u have the name of one of my classmates :-p !

overall rating : 7/10. (don't ask for reasons, it's MY blog!)

We then head towards one of the most hyped countries of the world.

Singapore looks small on a map , but for a one city nation it's big enough.

Lots of places to see!!

I wonder how they have a zoo and a safari inside that small island!

I just LOVED this place! awesome!

Stupendous technologies everywhere - automatic toll , high tech train tickets... So cool!

Btw... here's an intersting statistic : 77% of singaporians are chineese, 12% malay, 8% Indians and only 3% Locals!! :p.

And as a result Chineese food is all around.But chineese restaurants that dont serve veg food. :p

We went into one of the eatery and asked for VEG food - and the waiter went " Are u sure??" holding an absolutely confused face!

There's nothing much i would like to add about the experience about Singapore... It really was tooo cooooll!! the sight seeing places are superb, well complimented by a clean, safe , tourist friendly atmosphere. For more see my FB photo album.

over all rating : 9/10 (i was tempted to give a 10/10 , but there is always room for improvement u see!! :-p )

Very soon i landed once again on a runway. This one was much more bumpier. The air hostess then called out "My dear Guests , Jet Airways now welcomes you to Baroda...."

That marked the END of a short but enjoyable journey.

The first thing that comes to mind reading these names are images of beautiful women.

"PHET" is one of the latest additions to the group of 'beautiful ladies', though it might not sound as sexy or seductive.

Phet emerged on earth after successive thunders and lightnings (quiet literally)! It had an ideal entry to the world, Just like our film stars who jump out of nowhere with nature seemingly becoming a slave to them.

Pouring showers, deafening thunders and blinding lightnings! Stupendous! A wonderful way to welcome a HERO!

This cute devil was born in the Arabian sea. It grew in power , moved towards the mainland causing utter panic and chaos. Meteorologists named this powerful cyclone - PHET.

A cyclone ,traditionally ,is associated with utter destruction and mayhem.

Phet has not yet reached Gujarat. (atleast when i write this blog)

I hope it doesn't cause too much damage to property and does not claim lives of any. My sympathy would lie with those who loose their belongings or loved ones.

However, Phet has brought happiness to many. Atleast to me!

After a long summer of unbearable heat, early monsoons are only a welcome.

The dry dust by the road side , will soon become muddy... perfect for a mud bath!

The climate will chill and the aroma of the monsoon will spread. (oh! The garbage dumbs will get stinkier too!)

the cool soft breeze shall flow!

The MONSOONS SHALL ARRIVE! Wooo Hooo!

That is nature! A cyclone (Phet) assumed to be a mere tool of nature to cause absolute destruction , turns out to be a hope for a long and pleasant monsoons.

Fortunately life mimics nature in several ways.

Naa.. life doesn't give us powers to make clouds rain or lightnings strike.

But it sure does say that the other side of the moon is bright!

These are the days when results of various examinations are out. These are the days when the judgement is given. Well i believe that te judgement is 99.9% wrong. Terribly wrong. It doesn't reflect the true caliber of the candidate. But Grandmas say "Thats the result".

Yes. This is THEIR judgement.

They have created the storm... we have to harvest the happiness.

Lets just take it this way... We are who we are. No result can change us.

It's time we digest the results, jump on to the playground and say "I'll show u who i am,buddy!".

We still have a long way to go!

" Do what u love, love what u do"

Success is somewhere around... We just need to find it!

Result Days

I'm sorry for not updating my blog for sometime now...
..
..
But i'll assume that u have pardoned me on that...

Ever since my exams were over, i've been busy. Busy with LOTs of work to do. Of the many things that i have been involved in, preparing my self to switch to hostel life was one. Many of my seniors have said that one of the most exciting and important aspect of hostel life is GAMING. Computer gaming. Cool huh? This seemed tough ( to become a good player needs lots of hard work) but enjoyable never the less! I had a variety of games to choose from: CS, WOW, AOE. ( Computer games can be compared to Indian politics,actually! Just like most political parties which have their own abbreviation (remember BJP, BSP, INC... ?), also the games take a toll on ur computer's memory and performance just like the politicians dig ur pockets! lol)
Anyways, I chose AOE. Age Of Empires to be more precise.

Computer games and ME never went together. However, my game is improving by the day. My brother's addition to the game (on LAN) has only helped my improvement.

When i gave my brain a little exercise, i realized that my game often reflected my feelings.
Hey! dont laugh! I'm serious!!
The day i'm happy and calm i tend to grow more farms, when i'm angry i play aggressive and so on..

Past 2 weeks have been what i call "Result Days". The FINAL result of my hard work. The first bombshell was that of the CBSE boards. Had no expectations... and i wud have been happy with any percentage( i had put in very little hard work into it). Then the results of the competive exams started coming. GUJCET, IITJEE, BITSAT, AIEEE .
My game grew bad. Bad to worse. Worse and Worse.

The results have been a disaster for me. I thought i had done much much better than this.
Spending hours and hours wondering what went wrong didnt help one bit. Tears ran down my cheeks , my nose got filled with goo and my throat was choked.

It took me a while to digest my result .... but in the end i accepted it.
I wiped off my tears, blew out the goo, gargled my throat and i was UP again!
I wud have ruffled up my feathers i had them for the long happy flight ahead.

It is now that i have realised the value of the wise's saying ,"Whatever happens , happens for the Good."

Filled with enthusiasm again, i switched on the computer inserted the CD, and i was back to gamming terms!

Believe me i'm playing better today! I'm still hopelessly bad at gamming... but i'm better than what i was a couple of weeks back.

The RESULT DAYS can't stop me!
